Pemphigus is characterized by shallow ulcers or fragile blisters that break open quickly. Pemphigoid presents with stronger or “tense” blisters that don't open easily. Those with pemphigoid are also more likely to have hot, red and itchy hive spots.
The risk of developing bullous pemphigoid is greater in people with psoriasis, and it can be precipitated by treatment of psoriasis with phototherapy. There may be an association with internal malignancy in some patients. A drug, an injury, or skin infection can trigger the onset of disease.

Lesions between the two diseases look different. Pemphigus vulgaris lesions have flaccid bullae, erosions, and flexural vegetations or growths, and bullous pemphigoid has urticated plaques, tense bullae, and some milia.
Bullous pemphigoid is an autoimmune disorder that occurs when the body's immune system attacks and destroys healthy body tissue by mistake. Specifically, the immune system attacks the proteins that attach the top layer of skin (epidermis) to the bottom layer of skin.
Pemphigoid diseases are a group of well defined autoimmune disorders that are characterised by autoantibodies against structural proteins of the dermal–epidermal junction and, clinically, by tense blisters and erosions on skin or mucous membranes close to the skin surface.
Diagnosis is by skin biopsy and immunofluorescence testing of skin and serum. Topical and systemic corticosteroids are used initially. Most patients require long-term maintenance therapy, for which a variety of immunosuppressants can be used. Bullae are elevated, fluid-filled blisters ≥ 10 mm in diameter.
Bullous: Characterized by blistering, such as a second-degree burn.
Systemic corticosteroids remain the gold standard treatment for pemphigus vulgaris. Azathioprine and mycophenolate mofetil are the first line of steroid-sparing treatment. Rituximab is extremely effective in recalcitrant pemphigus, when other treatments fail to control the disease.
Essential (primary) hypertension: I10 ICD-10 uses only a single code for individuals who meet criteria for hypertension and do not have comorbid heart or kidney disease. That code is I10, Essential (primary) hypertension.
Cutaneous abscess, furuncle and carbuncle L02-
Bullous pemphigoid is an acute or chronic autoimmune skin disease, involving the formation of blisters, more appropriately known as bullae, at the space between the skin layers epidermis and dermis. It is classified as a type II hypersensitivity reaction, with the formation of anti-hemidesmosome antibodies.
