Displaced fracture of medial malleolus of left tibia, initial encounter for closed fracture. 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 Billable/Specific Code. S82.52XA is a billable/specific ICD-10-CM code that can be used to indicate a diagnosis for reimbursement purposes.
S82 ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Code S82. Fracture of lower leg, including ankle 2016 2017 2018 2019 Non-Billable/Non-Specific Code. Includes fracture of malleolus. Note A fracture not indicated as displaced or nondisplaced should be coded to displaced. A fracture not indicated as open or closed should be coded to closed.
Displaced fracture of lateral malleolus of left fibula, initial encounter for closed fracture. The 2019 edition of ICD-10-CM S82.62XA became effective on October 1, 2018. This is the American ICD-10-CM version of S82.62XA - other international versions of ICD-10 S82.62XA may differ.
The ICD code S826 is used to code Wagstaffe-Le Fort avulsion fracture. Le Fort's fracture of the ankle is a vertical fracture of the antero-medial part of the distal fibula with avulsion of the anterior tibiofibular ligament, opposite to a Tillaux-Chaput avulsion fracture.
5-
Nondisplaced fracture of medial malleolus of left tibia, initial encounter for closed fracture. S82. 55XA is a billable/specific ICD-10-CM code that can be used to indicate a diagnosis for reimbursement purposes. The 2022 edition of ICD-10-CM S82.
Bimalleolar Fractures and Bimalleolar Equivalent Fractures "Bimalleolar" means that two of the three parts or malleoli of the ankle are fractured. (Malleoli is plural for malleolus.) In most cases of bimalleolar fracture, the lateral malleolus and the medial malleolus are fractured and the ankle is not stable.
You probably know the medial malleolus as the bump that protrudes on the inner side of your ankle. It's actually not a separate bone, but the end of your larger leg bone — the tibia, or shinbone. The medial malleolus is the largest of the three bone segments that form your ankle.
The tibia and fibula have specific parts that make up the ankle: Medial malleolus - inside part of the tibia. Posterior malleolus - back part of the tibia. Lateral malleolus - end of the fibula.
The lateral malleolus is the bone on the outside of the fibula. A lateral malleolus fracture is a type of ankle fracture that occurs when the fibula fractures just above the ankle joint.
Physicians classify broken ankles by the area of bone that has fractured. For instance, if both the fibula and tibia have broken, it is considered a bimalleolar fracture. Conversely, a trimalleolar fracture involves a break in the three parts of the ankle.
A Pott's fracture is a fracture affecting one or both of the malleoli. During activities such as landing from a jump (volleyball, basketball) or when rolling an ankle, a certain amount of stress is placed on the tibia and fibula and the ankle joint.
Pathological fracture, right ankle, initial encounter for fracture. M84. 471A is a billable/specific ICD-10-CM code that can be used to indicate a diagnosis for reimbursement purposes. The 2022 edition of ICD-10-CM M84.
The medial malleolus and lateral malleolus are bones located in the lower part of your extremities. The medial malleolus is formed by the lower part of your tibia and makes up the inner side of the ankle. The lateral malleolus is formed by the lower section of the fibula and makes up the outer side of the ankle.
The medial malleolus is the medial projection of bone from the distal tibia. The lateral malleolus projects laterally from the distal fibula (Fig. 11.3). Both malleoli serve as the proximal attachments for the collateral ligaments of the ankle.
The medial malleolus is the bony bump on the inner side of the ankle. This is the end of the shinbone (tibia) and forms the support for the inner side of the ankle joint. The medial malleolus is also the attachment of the major ligament on the inner side of the ankle, called the deltoid ligament.
