2022 ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Code S52. 57: Other intraarticular fracture of lower end of radius.
When the radius breaks near the wrist, it is called a distal radius fracture. The break usually happens due to falling on an outstretched or flexed hand. It can also happen in a car accident, a bike accident, a skiing accident or another sports activity.
Use 25600 for “closed treatment of distal radial fracture (e.g., Colles or Smith type) or epiphyseal separation, with or without fracture of ulnar styloid; without manipulation.”
CPT® 25605 in section: Closed treatment of distal radial fracture (eg, Colles or Smith type) or epiphyseal separation, includes closed treatment of fracture of ulnar styloid, when performed.

You have two code choices for open treatment of a distal radial intra-articular fracture:25608 — Open treatment of distal radial intraarticular fracture or epiphyseal separation; with internal fixation of 2 fragments.25609 — … with internal fixation of 3 or more fragments.Dec 17, 2015
December 28, 2017. An intra-articular fracture refers to a fracture that extends from the bone into the nearby joint. In the case of radial fractures, this means that the fracture has extended from the end of the radius (the larger of the two bones in the forearm) into the wrist joint.
The distal radius is the end (distal) portion of the forearm bone (radius). It connects to the carpal bones at the wrist and runs parallel to the ulna, which is the other bone of the forearm.
The radius is the bone on the thumb side and the ulna is the bone on the little finger side. People may break both of these bones when they trip and hold an arm out to stop the fall. The distal (closest to the hand) part of the bones are most likely to be injured.
Radial fractures are similar to the spokes of a wheel. Concentric fractures connect the radial fractures in a pattern similar to a spider web. The next step is to figure out which side of the fragment was facing in and which side was facing out.
